How to Measure Your Box
Prepare clear dimensions for your packaging enquiry.
Record length, width and depth, include the units, and say whether the dimensions are inside or outside measurements.
01. Before you measure
Have the product ready with anything that goes in the box, such as inserts, tissue or protective material. Use a ruler or tape measure in inches or millimetres.
02. Identify the dimensions
Record length, then width, then depth. Length and width are the opening of the box; depth is the height from the base to the opening.
03. Inside vs outside
Inside dimensions describe the space your product fits into. Outside dimensions include the board thickness. Always state which you are giving; inside dimensions are usually best.
04. Check product fit
Allow a little room so the product goes in and out easily, and add space for any insert, tissue or padding.
05. Share your measurements
Add the dimensions and units to your quote request. If you are unsure, describe the product and our team will help.
